AUTOFOAM-ED
My FLX has been with me for a month now, and the external road and tyre noise is really bugging me and pumping up the volume of the stereo doesn't help at all. I have heard a lot of positive comments in forums about chassis foaming. So today I went to KL auto to give autofoam a try. The owner of KL auto, Desmond, was a nice guy...the first thing he asked was "want coffee or 100plus?". The whole process includes foaming the undercarriage, A-pillars and installation of soundproofing mats for the doors and trunk. The whole process took 4 hours. The results? The most obvious one was better handling...I could take a corner at high speed without any problem. The car feels more solid now, steering feels sharper and the car doesn't dip much upon braking. At 110km/h, external noise was reduced and at 120km/h, I don't feel like I need to pump up the volume of the stereo like what I used to do. Engine sounds quieter now and road noise is reduced, but its still there albeit at a more acceptable level. I feel more confident driving my car now! So here are some pictures of the foaming process...
